AMDEC at the mozambican health sector TROIKA

The TROIKA of the health sector in Mozambique, of which AMDEC is represented by its Executive Director, Gilda Jossias, met, on October 26th, with the holder of the sector's portfolio, Dr. Armindo Tiago, being the first meeting since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the meeting, several technical and strategic agenda points were discussed, considered priorities for the sector, with emphasis on: Expansion of the network of health units, where the main aspect discussed was the need for new infrastructures to be built or rehabilitated observe resilience and quality criteria; Improvement of the supply chain, where the need to increase the number of medical material warehouses was discussed, as well as the strengthening of the IT system for controlling requests; Strengthening and consolidating community subsystems, taking the community as a central point to identify problems and solutions in a multisectoral dimension. Here it is urgent that the partners involved make efforts to design and operationalize this system, considering success stories in the region and surrounding areas.

Other cross-cutting themes were also discussed, aimed at increasing and strengthening the skills of the technical staff of the national health system.
