Magude´s government encourages AMDEC on its efforts implementing income generating activities

During a visit to the AMDEC offices, the District Administrator of Magude, Lázaro Mbambamba, took part on June 13 in the ceremony of handing out kits of products aimed at boosting economic activities to 15 members of the Community Adherence and Support Groups (GAACs) in that area of the Maputo province.

At the event, held in the Town Center of Magude, Lázaro Mbambamba not only praised the gesture but also the commitment of AMDEC in its actions within the district. To the beneficiaries, the Administrator urged them to cultivate honest management of the support given, as well as to avoid unfair practices in their activities.

The action is part of the support component in managing savings, revolving credit, and creating income-generating activities for GAACs within the scope of the project "Enhancing universal access to quality healthcare for people with HIV/AIDS." The aim is to contribute to easing the financial burden experienced by households with individuals living with the disease.

Through this initiative, it is expected that by the end of this year, 120 members of GAACs, divided into 14 groups across the districts of Magude and Manhiça, will have been empowered.
